1:58 p.m: The Hair clippers convert great man Kai Jones according to NBA insider Chris B. Haynes (Twitter link) to a two-way contract from his previous Exhibit 10 pact.

Jones, a former 19th overall pick, has impressed in recent weeks. He averaged 8.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in five preseason games while serving as LA's primary backup center Mohamed Bamba an injury treated. Head coach Tyronn Lue recently pointed out that Jones is important to the team.

The 1.85 meter tall Texan spent the first two years of his career with the Hornets, but did not make it into the rotation. This, coupled with a personal struggle with mental health, led to his release. He signed a 10-day contract with the Sixers in March but was not brought back after it expired.

At the end of the regular season, Jones ended up with the Clippers. However, he didn't play in a game last season. He had a team option for 2024-25 that was declined this offseason before being re-signed to the Exhibit 10 contract.

The Clippers are still at the offseason limit of 21 players, but Jones' move likely means we'll see everyone Elijah Harkless, Braxton Key And Alones Williams – their other Exhibit 10 players – opted out in the coming hours. The Clippers do not have an open spot on their 15-man roster and all three two-way spots are filled. They are also reportedly planning to sign Tosan Evbuomwanpresumably to an Exhibit 10 deal and then waiving him to join their G League affiliate.
