Isaiah Collier, Johnny Juzang and Jaren Jackson Jr. are out for the season opener between the Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies

The Utah Jazz begin the 2024-25 NBA season this Wednesday at home against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Utah will not start the season with a clean injury record. Guard Isaiah Collier and forward Johnny Juzang are both out for the opener.

For the Jazz, this shouldn't change their main rotation significantly from last season. Collier served as the backup point guard for Utah in most exhibition games before his hamstring injury. The 29th overall pick from USC performed well as a moderator and averaged 4.25 assists in four games. Patty Mills, Utah's veteran offseason signing, will likely take over Collier's protocol. The Jazz have not yet announced a timetable for Collier's return.

Juzang, who shot over 50% of his three-pointers during limited preseason play, was outside of Utah's regular preseason rotation anyway. The third-year player out of UCLA signed a fully guaranteed contract with the Jazz this offseason. A return date for Juzang was not given.

Memphis will have a more robust injury record to start the season. Jaren Jackson Jr., GG Jackson, Luke Kennard, Cam Spencer and Vince Williams Jr. are all listed as out Wednesday.
