Five dead after Dane Co. crash in which vehicle bursts into flames

VERONA CITY, Wis. (WMTV) – Five people are dead after the vehicle they were in crashed and caught fire late Friday night, according to the Dane County Sheriff's Office.

DCSO confirms the vehicle was traveling north on the Range Trail when it left the road and struck a tree. The vehicle caught fire and burst into flames.

According to DCSO deputies who arrived around 11:12 p.m. Friday, all five people inside were dead.

DCSO, Verona Police and Verona Fire and Rescue responded to the scene north of Sunset Drive.

Officials say the identities of the victims will be released at a later date.

DCSO is still investigating what caused the crash.
