Weather in Dallas: Scattered rain, storms this weekend

It looks like early November will try to make up for our dry October.

Rain and storms are expected for some of us this weekend, and almost everyone in North Texas will see rain through Monday.

Forecast for Saturday: Showers

Saturday will start off cloudy and Gulf moisture will make for a humid day. It will be very humid for the beginning of November.

There will be occasional light rain as temperatures climb into the upper 70s.

The first of several disturbances will reach North Texas this afternoon, bringing scattered showers, some thunder and downpours in some areas.

Only about 50% of the area will see rain.

The biggest concern Saturday is the area far northwest of Fort Worth, where there is a risk of very heavy rain and strong winds this evening due to a storm complex.

Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour before bed.

Sunday forecast: Scattered storms

Sunday will be similar to Saturday in that it will be cloudy and humid with some showers.

The maximum temperatures are around 80 °C.

Any showers would come from the south and east of the Metroplex, with a higher chance of storms in the north and northwest of the Metroplex.

Afternoon and evening storms would bring the risk of severe storms with wind and a slight threat of tornadoes.

7 day forecast

A strong system is expected to produce a squall line with higher coverage on Monday.

The line of storms may bring damaging winds and even some tornadoes.

The greatest chance for these storms will be from late morning to early afternoon.

Election Day is expected to be drier, with highs near 70.

Another storm system will bring clouds and scattered showers through Wednesday, increasing the chance of showers and storms later in the week.
