After her husband's death, an Oakland woman allegedly called her family to hide baggies of fentanyl before calling 911. Now the police have taken over her case

OAKLAND – An Oakland woman has been charged with distributing fentanyl in the Bay Area, months after she allegedly admitted to police that she called her family to remove large amounts of drugs from their home before causing her death man reported.

Fany Reanos-Moreno, 32, has been charged with distribution of fentanyl, and prosecutors are also seeking the seizure of $63,132 in alleged drug money as part of the case, court records show. Charging documents show Reanos-Moreno was distributing fentanyl last August, but she first appeared on Oakland police's radar last April when her husband died by suicide in their home, authorities said.

On April 28, Reanos-Moreno's 22-year-old husband allegedly shot himself during an argument with Reason-Moreno at the couple's Oakland home. She later admitted that instead of immediately calling 911, she called several friends and family members to clear a large amount of drugs and a pill press from the house, authorities said.

Police were suspicious of the claims and arrested Reanos-Moreno and a relative under the assumption that her husband's death was a homicide. But an autopsy later confirmed it was suicide, authorities said.

In a subsequent interview, Reanos-Moreno allegedly told police that she called several relatives to her home to clean up the distribution quantities of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine before calling 911. Police later searched the apartment and found half-ounces of various drugs, including fentanyl, a schedule that set the price per kilogram of heroin, fentanyl and cocaine, and several empty kilogram packages believed to have once contained fentanyl, authorities said with.
