Pennsylvania man accused of killing his child's mother, grandma – NBC10 Philadelphia

A Pennsylvania man is facing multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree murder, after he allegedly broke into a New Jersey home and killed his child's mother and grandmother earlier this week.

Junior Edwards, 37, of Lansdowne, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder: first-degree burglary of a dwelling with a firearm, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful person, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office Endangering the welfare of a child in the second degree.

Prosecutors said the investigation began just after 4 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, after Willingboro Township Police Department officers were called to the first block of Harrington Circle in the Hawthorne Park neighborhood of Willingboro Township for a report of to receive a burglary in progress.

After entering the apartment, officers discovered the bodies of Catherine Nunez, 33, and her mother, Marisol Nunez, 54, in an upstairs bedroom, according to prosecutors. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to prosecutors, an investigation revealed that entry was gained through a first-floor window broken by Edwards. A handgun believed to have been used in the homicide was discovered outside the home.

According to prosecutors, the investigation also revealed that Edwards and Catherine Nunez had an 8-year-old son together. The child was in the home during the shooting but was not injured.

Autopsies conducted by Burlington County Coroner Dr. Ian Hood, revealed that the cause of death for both victims was multiple gunshot wounds, prosecutors said.
