If “Agatha wanted me to be afraid of death all along,” they shouldn’t have cast Aubrey Plaza

Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for Agatha All Along.

Watch out Agatha all the time cemented something for me: I'm drawn to deadly, evil women in this genre. It should have been clear with Lenore Castlevania and Poison Ivy in various Batman-related TV shows, but Agatha all the time takes the cake with him Aubrey PlazaThis is Rio Vidal. In retrospect, it's particularly ironic since Rio is actually the manifestation of Death – which plays an important role in Marvel's cosmic canon. While Plaza was previously part of a Marvel series thanks to legionher appearance in Agatha all the time had me hooked from the first episode – not to mention her ridiculous chemistry with her Kathryn Hahn.

Aubrey Plaza becomes increasingly unhinged throughout Agatha All Along, and I love it

What makes Plaza's performance as Rio so outstanding is that she becomes increasingly unhinged Agatha all the time Proceeds. When she appeared in the “Agnes of Westview” segment in the first episode, I noticed the tension between her and Agatha and wondered, “Did they date before?” It didn't help that Plaza was wearing the simple black suit of an FBI agent wore, combined with her trademark grin; Even if I never guessed the turn of death, I wanted to see more of this character. And there was more to come when she attacked the powerless Agatha after the Scarlet Witch's spell was broken. A woman dressed all in black and carrying a huge knife has never been more seductive.

Rio eventually resurfaced as the “Green Witch” needed for Agatha's coven, and She turned the camp up to eleven. In her first appearance, she literally bursts out of the ground, which alarms Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata) and Alice Wu-Gulliver (Ali Ahn); In another trial, she begins laughing maniacally when it turns out that “Death” was in the room with the Circle. Admittedly, this should have been my first clue that Rio wasn't what she seemed, but This was the power of Plaza at work. She had already played some dark characters, such as the always cynical April Ludgate in ” Parks and Recreation or the social media stalker Ingrid Ingrid goes west, But this was a whole other level and it left me wanting more.

I loved the chemistry between Aubrey Plaza and Kathryn Hahn in Agatha All Along

Something else that Plaza brought to the table that intrigued me was the burningly intense chemistry between her and Hahn. Not only did it introduce a level of weirdness that Marvel Studios projects could use more of (just like the relationship Billy had with his friend), but it also captivated me in a way that few could Having relationships in the MCU. Even before the big reveal that Rio was responsible for the death of Agatha's son, I sensed the tension between the two and was perhaps secretly hoping for them to kiss. Damn, I was a little jealous of Hahn than Agatha and Rio did Kiss after their fight in Agatha's backyard. Listen, if I get to choose how I go out, “kissing Aubrey Plaza” is far from the worst choice.

I finally understand why Deadpool and Thanos like death

Agatha all the time eventually led me to a surprising conclusion: I finally understand why Thanos chased death in the comics. The Mad Titan was obsessed with death and in The Infinity Gauntlet limited series of Jim Starlin, George Perez, & Ron Lim, He wiped out half the universe for them. After the big revelation that Rio was Death, I went back and pulled out my copy The Infinity Gauntletand read it again. Thanos isn't the only Marvel character to deal with death; Deadpool was caught up in her affections as she could not lay claim to his soul due to his healing factor.

Ironically, Plaza was almost in a Deadpool movie; She discussed losing a role Deadpool 2 while she shot legion. But seeing her as Death really makes me want a Deadpool movie Deadpool and Thanos compete for Death's love. The MCU wasn't tackling a romantic comedy, it would be a new take Ryan Reynolds'Merc with a Mouth, and it would be a nice way to bring it too Josh Brolin returns as Thanos while fulfilling Brolin's wish to give the Mad Titan a new side. It would also mean I get to see more of Plaza than Death, and I'm all for that.
