The jury was shown “explicit” videos of Richard Allen in prison on day 14 of the Delphi murder trial

DELPHI, Ind. (WNDU) – Jurors were shown “explicit” videos of Richard Allen in jail on the 14th day of the Delphi murder trial.

The 52-year-old is accused of the murders of 13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old Libby German. Abby and Libby disappeared while hiking on February 13, 2017 near the Monon High Bridge Trail in Delphi. Their bodies were discovered a day later in the forest near this trail.

According to our sister station WTHR, the 11th defense witness was Max Baker, a defense intern who gave the jury a ride with a total of 15 videos from the months of April, May and June 2023.

The jury was shown “motion videos” of Allen being taken through the Westville Correctional Facility, and some of the videos contained nudity.

The courtroom audience couldn't see what was on the screens, angering many, including Libby German's family.

Some questioned why Allen's privacy was respected while the victim's privacy was not respected.

Allen's trial, which began Oct. 18, continues Monday. The process is expected to last until mid-November.
