The PT Cruiser driver, identified as 22-year-old Ryan Edward Bloomster of Estacada, was killed in the accident. A 22-year-old woman who was a passenger in the PT Cruiser suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

The Dodge was driven by a 51-year-old man from Happy Valley and had a 12-year-old passenger on board. Both the Dodge driver and his passenger were also taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

After an initial investigation, officials believed the accident occurred when PT Cruiser driver Bloomster failed to negotiate a curve.
