Multiple investigations are underway following the violent week in Mobile County

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – After a violent week here in Mobile County, multiple investigations are underway.

Investigators say officers attempted to serve arrest warrants involving child pornography on Juan Puente Junior. According to authorities, Puente led police on a chase that ended in a standoff after he shot at officers and barricaded himself in his garage.

Sheriff Burch says Puente continued firing at police from his garage before he was shot.

“They’re trying to get these types of people off the streets,” Sheriff Burch said. “This person chose a path other than going to prison.”

A woman's body was found on the side of the road on Barnes Avenue around 4 a.m. Thursday morning. Mobile police identified the woman as 63-year-old Donna Morrow. Investigators believe this is an active murder investigation.

An hour later, on Thursday afternoon, chaos erupted in Saraland after a shooting left one man injured. According to police, the man was a wanted murder suspect from Florida. It all happened in the parking lot of a shopping center on Celeste Road. The Saraland Library came into the line of fire, but fortunately no one was injured.

“I looked forward and saw two people with guns, so I told everyone to get down and go to the back. And then glass broke and someone was stuck in a study, but I just told her to stay downstairs. “I wouldn’t have expected this in Saraland of all places,” said Matt Cobb, Saraland library director.

Tonight the suspect's identity and condition remain unknown. FOX10 News reached out to the U.S. Marshall's Office, ALEA and the Gulf Coast Regional Task Force but we have not received a response.

Then Thursday evening, Mobile police said they found a 15-year-old boy dead from a gunshot wound on the side of the road on Arcturus Lane. As of Saturday evening, there are still no suspects in custody.

Fast forward to Friday evening: MPD says they found a man with a fatal gunshot wound on LeFlore Drive. Mobile police arrested 24-year-old Zakiyyah Bonner of Mobile and charged her with murder, domestic violence and trespassing.

Jail records show Bonner's bond hearing is scheduled for Monday.
