Red flag triggered after Q1 accident in wet conditions

Franco Colapinto brought out the first red flag of qualifying in Brazil after a crash in wet conditions.

Qualifying has been postponed until Sunday morning at Interlagos after the traditional qualifying spot was abandoned due to torrential conditions.

The Argentine, who has impressed in his previous outings with Williams, lost control of the car at Turn 3 as he tried to improve his lap time.

His accident occurred after several drivers had moments off the track – however, Colapinto was the first to find the barrier.

The 21-year-old said over the team radio that he was fine and apologized for the incident.

Colapinto performs with many fans supporting him in the South American country.
