One dead after crash in Lancaster County, cops say

LANCASTER COUNTY, SC (WBTV) – One person has died in a crash late Saturday evening in Lancaster County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

According to police, the accident occurred around 10:45 p.m. on Mcilwain Road near Providence Road, about three miles south of Lancaster.

A 2007 Ford Mustang was traveling north on Mcilwain Road when it left the right side of the road, struck a mailbox, a ditch, a culvert, a street sign and a tree and rolled over.

The driver of the Mustang was the only person in the car at the time of the crash, troopers said.

No further information was released.
