The Philadelphia Eagles score in the first quarter after a turnover in Jacksonville

play

The Philadelphia Eagles finally did it, it only took nine games.

Running back Saquon Barkley caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jalen Hurts to score the Eagles' first point of the first quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

The touchdown was set up by a big special teams play by the Eagles. Eagles shooter Sydney Brown forced Jaguars returner Austin Trammell to fumble and Keele Ringo recovered the ball at the Jacksonville 20.

Eagles problems in the first quarter

The eight weeks of scoreless first quarters set an NFL record for scoreless first quarters with the 1991 Green Bay Packers. The Packers were 1-7 through the first eight weeks of the season. The Eagles, on the other hand, are 5-2.

Although Philadelphia was outscored 30-0 in the first quarter heading into Sunday's game against Jacksonville, the Eagles fought back in the final three quarters and outscored their opponents 171-102.
