A 24-year-old man falls from a third-story building and dies as New York City marathon runners pass nearby

A 24-year-old man who was apparently watching the New York City Marathon from a third-story window fell to his death in Williamsburg on Sunday, according to the NYPD and law enforcement sources.

The man, whose name has not been publicly released, crashed around 12:30 p.m. as racers were passing near South 6th Street and Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn, police said.

The victim was believed to have been watching the marathon runners pass by when he shot down the three stories, sources told The Post.

Officers quickly arrived at the scene and discovered the man was unconscious and unresponsive. According to police, he was taken to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities said they do not suspect foul play but the incident remains under investigation.

A man who frequents a bar on South 6th Street told The Post that the area is usually quiet and that he has never seen anyone entering and exiting the floors above the establishment.

The 24-year-old died near the 11th-mile checkpoint at the Williamsburg Bridge, where runners were running north toward Queens on Bedford Avenue.
