1 dead in shooting at Alabaster gas station

An investigation is underway after a fatal shooting at an Alabaster gas station.

Officers responded to the Shell station at 11:45 p.m. Saturday to report an altercation at Shell just off Interstate 65.

According to Shelby County Coroner Lina Evans, one person was killed.

Police are not releasing any further details other than to say it was a contained incident that did not pose a threat to the public.
