A traffic stop leads to the arrest of a man wanted for sex crimes against children. The convicted felon is found with handguns

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A traffic stop in Mt. Juliet led to the arrest of a man wanted for a child sex crime and a convicted felon in possession of four handguns, according to the Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD). was).

Police said they stopped a vehicle for a signal violation Sunday evening.

When the officer stopped the vehicle, he discovered a 40-year-old Nashville man with active warrants for two counts of aggravated sexual battery of a minor dating back to October 4th.

Another person in the car was a 60-year-old convicted felon from Murfreesboro who had four handguns, MJPD said. Police said one of the handguns was stolen in 2020 in Humboldt, Tennessee.

According to MJPD, both individuals were arrested and booked into the Wilson County Jail.

“A big thank you to our vigilant officers for their efforts to protect wanted people and keep them away from Mt. Juliet,” MJPD said in a social media post.
