5 takeaways from LA's overtime win

The Rams accomplished something on Sunday that they have not been able to do so far in the 2024 season. You won a football game away from home. Not only did the Rams win on the road, but they also won against a divisional opponent in Seattle, a place with one of the loudest environments in the NFL. Their 26-20 win ties Arizona for the lead in the NFC West and gives the Rams three straight wins and a record of .500.

Their victory was achieved despite the departure of Puka Nacua, who was ejected in the second quarter for a punch after being provoked by Seahawks linebacker Tyrel Dodson. It was a mixed bag of veterans and newcomers who broke through for the team and signed a new lease this season.

Here are five takeaways from Sunday's win.

1. Chris Shula and his defense have arrived

When Shula's defense repeatedly beat the Raiders two weeks ago, it seemed like a flash in the pan. After Shula's defense suffered three interceptions on Sunday, that no longer appeared to be the case.

Not only were they opportunistic, but they were also strong defensively and repeatedly blocked the Seahawks' rushing attack. This proved crucial as they stopped Kenneth Walker on fourth-and-1 in the red zone in OT. The Rams won the game four plays later. That's three spectacular performances in a row for Shula's group.

2. The Rams have one of the brightest safeties in the NFL

Kam Curl, Kam Kinchens and Jaylen McCollough have fueled the Rams' recent success. Each player has scored a touchdown this season and contributed to multiple turnovers over the past three weeks.

They came together to beat Geno Smith three times, including a 103-yard touchdown by Kinchens. All three men are under contract until next season and with an average age of 23.6, their growth potential should excite fans.

3. Demarcus Robinson is a problem for the defense

It's two consecutive multi-point weeks for Demarcus Robinson as the veteran once again proves his worth. Not only did Robinson score both of the Rams' offensive points, but he also caught the game-winning play in overtime.

His combination of speed and intelligence gives him open doors at various points on the pitch. He's the WR3, there's no doubt about it. At this rate, he could be the best WR3 in the NFL.

4. Tutu Atwell has no future in Los Angeles

Despite Puka Nacua's early exit, Tutu Atwell was used sparingly and only saw three goals thrown his way.

With him in a contract year and Jordan Whittington set to return at some point, it appears his future in LA is all but over unless he signs with the Chargers.

5. Braden Fiske is making good progress

Multiple sacks, multiple QB hits and a lot of QB pressure – Braden Fiske had his NFL coming out party. One of the main reasons for the victory was that Fiske was a tyrant on the inside.

Fiske was a strong defender in the run game, often blowing up Kenneth Walker. Alongside Kobie Turner, Bobby Brown and Tyler Davis, Fiske delivered the best performance of his career.
