The anthology features stories from 16 different authors, all of whom have previously entered the Glencairn Glass Crime Short Story competition over the last three years.

All profits from book sales in the run-up to Christmas will be donated to Maggie's, a UK-based cancer treatment charity.

Since 2020, Glencairn has been supporting Scottish crime writing talent through ongoing sponsorship of the McIlvanney and Bloody Scotland Debut crime fiction literary awards.

Following the sponsorship, the Glencairn Glass Crime Short Story Competition was launched in 2021 as an annual competition open to experienced and novice crime writers worldwide.

In collaboration with Stirling University, a collection of the most exciting stories from the competition participants was put together The final drama.

Stirling University students contributed to various aspects of the final collection, from curating the stories to the design and layout of the book. Heather J Fitt, a Scottish crime writer based in Hampshire, edited The final drama.

The final drama Includes harrowing stories of murder, retribution and revenge, as well as the chilling confession of a food blogger who sought revenge against her abusive husband. There's also a disillusioned tour guide on the Isle of Skye who sends misbehaving tourists to a gruesome fate, and a series of murders set in a Glasgow police station in 1928, to name a few.

Kirsty Nicholson, design and marketing manager at Glencairn Crystal, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the outstanding quality of stories submitted to our Glencairn Glass Crime Short Story competition over the last few years.

“We wanted to bring these compelling reads to people in a collection to support and celebrate the talented authors and the world of Scottish crime fiction, while raising money for Maggie’s – a very special charity.”

The book is available as an e-book for £5.99 (US$8) and as a limited edition for £9.99 (US$13). A gift pack of two Glencairn glasses is also available for £25.99 ($34).

The e-book, print book and gift set are available on the company's website and online store.

The Glencairn whiskey glass was launched in 2001.
