Fulham vs Brentford: Premier League – live | Premier League

Important events

15 minutes: Fluid football from Fulham! It's a one-touch move with Smith Rowe, Andreas Pereira and Robinson all combining, with the latter playing a brilliant pass into Brentford's full-back (Roerslev) to release Smith Rowe, who tried to pass it into the far post to direct but saw his shot deflected wide for a corner. That could have easily been deflected into the Brentford net. Honestly, this was one of the best moves of the season.

12 minutes: That's meant as a compliment, but I don't know exactly where Nelson plays for Fulham. He has appeared on both wings and now drives centrally forward in the No. 10 position, carrying the ball a full 40 yards until Collins expertly throws him away from the ball.

10 minutes: Flekken is on the ground, it looks like he may have injured his knee? The Dutchman will continue, but flinches. No Premier League keeper has made more saves from 47 stops than Flekken.

8 minutes: Almost an own goal when Robinson directs the ball back to Leno. Mbeumo gives the Fulham full-back a push and the ball almost deflects past Leno, who gets something on the ball. Fulham defends the ball.

6 minutes: Nelson appears on the left and shoots unhindered into the Brentford penalty area, forcing Flekken to make a sharp save at the near post. The ball bounces back to Nelson, but Flekken closes the angle again. Good double savings!

4 minutes: Pinnock, forced towards his own corner flag by an erratic pass, does exceptionally well at keeping the ball in and skipping past Nelson to launch a Brentford attack.

“When Thomas Frank praises Ethan Pinnock for being a mountain for Brentford, I wonder how Sepp van den Berg must feel (Berg is Dutch for 'mountain'),” writes Peter Oh via email.

Van den Berg, normally a central defender, plays at left-back tonight. A fake Gvardiol, if you will.

2 minutes: Fulham start well, and Smith Rowe takes center stage, linking play well outside Brentford's penalty area and setting up Jimenez for a (weak) shot straight at Flekken.

Peeeeeeep! We're gone.

The teams are out! Emile Smith Rowe's socks are pulled low accordingly. In honor of Remembrance Day, which takes place a week today, two wreaths will be placed in the center circle. The last post is played and perfectly observed.

Fulham is undoubtedly the most distinguished club in England. Does anyone know a better club in the world? Usual replies to [email protected] or via X: @michaelbutler18.

Traoré has been a bit back and forth latelySo it's no surprise to see Marco Silva bench him for Reiss Nelson, who joins former Gunners Bernd Leno, Emile Smith Rowe and Alex Iwobi in Fulham's starting XI. And what a replacement Traoré will be later in the game when Brentford's legs cramp up.

Just in case you missed that after Brentford's last gameThat was a pretty impressive speech from Thomas Frank as he congratulated Ethan Pinnock on 100 Premier League appearances. Pinnock, who played non-league football for Dulwich Hamlet for the first six years of his career, starts again tonight for number 101.

preamble

Hello everyone. Fulham and Brentford may be as different as Harrods and Hounslow, but at the moment the two west London clubs are eerily similar. After losing their best players (João Palhinha and Ivan Toney) in the summer, the two clubs have started the season well overall and are one point apart in 11th and 12th place, both with a net goal difference of zero.

Fulham are probably the stronger team at the moment, but Brentford have the better coach. Both are aiming for a place in the first half but would likely be fighting for survival at the end of the season. Both teams almost beat City at the Etihad this season and both lost to Manchester United. The point is that no one knows how high the ceiling or floor is on one side. And that, like watching Adama Traoré, is pretty exciting.

It's a derby under the lights. Join me.

Start: 20:00 GMT.
