SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: STINKY THIEF

A thief may no longer smell sweet in his jail cell after being arrested on both a warrant and an apparent attempt to steal air fresheners, body wash and Tide PODS from CVS Mockingbird Alley on October 29 at approximately 11:27 p.m.

28 Monday

A hacker stole golf clubs from a 2019 Porsche Macan Avenue of Normandy around 2:58 p.m

A pocket pirate has broken into a house Glenwick Lane around 4:08 p.m. and stole a Chanel handbag and a Louis Vuitton handbag.

Report at 4:47 p.m.: A cell phone was stolen Highland Park High School.

A woman was arrested for drunk driving after an accident at the intersection around 10:47 p.m Park Street and University Boulevard.

30 Wednesday

Arrested at around 11:51 a.m.: a 12-year-old boy who is accused of making a terrorist threat Highland Park Middle School/McCulloch Intermediate School.

A woman reported harassment around 1:02 p.m Westminster Ave.

A shoplifter may have a tainted mind and great skin after stealing several products, including eye cream, wrinkle smoothing cream and a daily scrub, from CVS around 6:32 p.m Preston Rd.

1 Friday

At approximately 1:20 a.m., officers arrested a woman on a warrant and seized a suspected narcotic McFarlin Blvd.

Reported at 7 p.m.: Someone attempted to fill a counterfeit prescription at CVS Snider Plaza.

At approximately 10:49 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested a man on a warrant Lovers Lane.

2 Saturday

Around 1:46 a.m., police arrested a man for drunk driving SMU Boulevard.

Officers responded to a verbal disturbance and charged a woman with assault at approximately 6:20 p.m Lomo Alto Drive.

Reported at 12:16 a.m.: A brazen burglar stole a metal treasure chest containing memorabilia, photos and children's jewelry from a 2018 Mercedes-Benz G-Class 3600 block of Cornell Avenue between October 22nd and 23rd.

A thief stole a 2006 Chevy Silverado and the wallet left inside containing a driver's license and credit cards before 2:40 a.m 4700 block of Abbott Avenue.

A suspected thief broke a window and ransacked a 2020 Audi A4 3400 block of Dartmouth Avenue before 4:50 a.m. but apparently didn't take anything.

Reported at 8:24 a.m.: A jogger was getting more than just exercise during his run on October 27 when he found a set of keys at… Lakeside Park which they delivered to the Highland Park Department of Public Safety.

Reported at 11:29 a.m.: An Uber Eats driver tipped himself as he retrieved a check for $2,350 from under the doormat of a home in the city 4600 block of Belclaire Avenue.

A reckless driver hit a Ford Mustang that was parked at Whole Foods 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive before 7:18 p.m. and left no information.

A man was arrested at the intersection around 2:10 a.m Rheims Place and Roland Avenue for warrants and public drunkenness.

A resident in the 4900 block of Abbott Avenue He left his phone in the back of a Lyft car around 3:30 a.m. and his calls went straight to voicemail.

The driver of a white SUV left the scene of an accident with a flat tire and damage after striking a 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class that was parked inside 4500 block of Beverly Drive before 2:59 p.m. but left no information.

Reported at 10:55 p.m.: The driver of a 2017 Mercedes-Benz SUV was pursuing the car that struck his vehicle while in the car 4100 block of Mockingbird Lane as it drove erratically through the neighborhoods.

Reported at 1:04 a.m.: A greedy thief stole copper wire from a telephone pole in the alley behind 3700 block of Gillon Avenue, which can lead to telecommunications problems.

A backpack blower, a metal rake, a broom and a metal dustpan were left behind 3300 block of Princeton Avenue were taken to the Highland Park Department of Public Safety compound around 1:40 a.m
