Moore woman arrested on child sex charges, claiming child was given to drug dealer

Moore police arrested one person on child escape charges last week because the child had not been seen in years.

Ashley Rowland was arrested in October for child abduction.

According to court documents, DHS received a removal order for Rowland's child in April 2023.

After Rowland was located, DHS was informed that the child was with the father in Georgia.

Officials then confirmed that the child was not in Georgia.

After re-interviewing Rowland, she stated that she had given the then two-year-old to a man from whom she had purchased methamphetamines.

The man, whom Rowland called Carlos, was not found by investigators.

Rowland stated that Carlos planned to return to Mexico and that she had not provided Carlos with personal identification documents for the child.

During the interview, Rowland claimed she was on drugs when she gave the child away. She stated that she had not seen Carlos or the child since April 2022.

Moore police released the following statement about the case:

This is a very active case that we are working diligently on. All leads relating to the child's whereabouts will be investigated. If you have any information about this case, please contact the Moore Police Department.
