Prince Harry and Meghan's flashbulb greeting goes viral

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's greeting in Fiji by a hail of flashbulbs went viral on TikTok as fans praised “their warmth, kindness, friendliness and honesty.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took a trip through Australia and the South Pacific, including Fiji, in October 2018 when they announced they were expecting their first child.

It was their first official visit abroad as a married royal couple and came five months after their wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle in May.

A recent clip went viral on TikTok after being viewed more than 515,000 times and liked 12,300 times as it was posted with the caption “They're The Truth.”

One reply said: “I love this! Seeing her on the balcony at the end was great. The royal family has truly lost a couple who would have strengthened the monarchy.”

Another read: “#Service is universal! I love these two beautiful souls,” while a third read: “Everywhere they go they are the most popular couple because people see the warmth, goodness, kindness and honesty in them.”

The clip showed Harry and Meghan arriving at the University of the South Pacific in Suva, Fiji, on October 24, 2018.

It was her second day in the country and part of a 16-day tour of the region that also included Australia and New Zealand.

At the time, the couple were on a PR high after announcing Meghan was pregnant with their first child, Prince Archie, and were left in the aftermath of their celebrated wedding.

However, royal relations were already strained behind the scenes and Harry wrote in his book Spare part how staff formed into rival camps in the private office they shared with Prince William and Princess Kate at Kensington Palace.

The university visit came on the same day as a trip to a marketplace in the Fijian capital, which became perhaps the most famous part of the entire tour because of a bizarre moment where Meghan was chased out by her security detail.

Valentine Low, who was responsible for the tour The timeswrote in his book Courtiers: “Meghan should spend fifteen minutes there talking to female salespeople. But after just eight minutes the Duchess was thrown out.”

“The Kensington Palace press office immediately panicked, with sources initially claiming the decision to leave early was due to 'security concerns'. This was later changed to concerns about 'crowd management problems'.”

However, he suggested that Meghan had actually been concerned about the presence of the organization UN Women, which she worked with before her marriage to the prince.

Low wrote: “The Duchess had previously told her staff that she would only leave if there was no UN Women branding, a source said. Before Meghan arrived at the market,
Staff did their best to reduce UN Women's visibility.

“However, footage from the visit shows Meghan surrounded by women in blue tops bearing the UN Women logo.

“At one point you see the Duchess whispering with a fixed smile to an employee who is grimacing. Meghan told a staff member: 'I can't believe I've been put in this situation.'”
