What to do if you don't have a valid ID?

Virginia: You can also vote with an official document with your name and address. This can be a utility bill or a bank statement. You can find a list of valid official documents in this list.

If you forget or are not registered to vote, you can vote using a provisional ballot. It is counted separately and the registry office confirms your eligibility to vote and sends it to the election board to approve or reject your ballot.

North Carolina: You can fill out an ID exclusion form and then vote with a provisional ballot. You can also vote using a provisional ballot and then contact your county elections office before November 14th.
