No. 17 Indiana vs. Southern Illinois-Edwardsville

SIU-E dominated a non-D1 opponent, Westminster, on Monday. The Cougars played more than 12 minutes against 13 players in the easy win, but Taylor and Brian Taylor II were the only ones to score in double figures.

SIU-E spread the floor in the opening game and attacked the basket on offense. The Cougars ended up taking 22 three-pointers, but they let them fly fearlessly. SIU-E routinely shot 25 to 30 three-pointers in games last season, which will likely be the case against the Hoosiers.

From Indiana's perspective, the Hoosiers have too much firepower for Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. Nevertheless, they have enough skill and athleticism Indiana Problems for routes. The Hoosiers need to take away both Taylor's space and space Ring Malith on the catch and at the same time cuts off lanes. SIU-E will not have a large postal presence.

The Hoosiers showed few schemes and actions in exhibition games. Woodson will probably want to keep as much a secret as possible, but Indiana should uncover a few more wrinkles in the offense against the Cougars.

Last year, the Hoosiers struggled to start the season against lower league teams Florida Gulf Coast And army before he gets out, wins. Woodson and Indiana are hoping for a better start to the 24-25 season.
