Dozens of videos detailing the most affordable countries as well as those with the fastest visa processes have flooded TikTok, with many using election hashtags to reach users concerned about the election results.

Several videos first acknowledged concerns about Donald Trump's victory over Kamala Harris before offering some alternatives. A video by @madisonrolley states that Mexico, Vietnam and Portugal are among the cheapest countries to live in.

In addition to the costs, many videos also discussed the politics and values that countries have for those thinking about moving. According to a TikTok by @ashleyhappened, Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom reportedly have the greatest similarity to American values.

Various TikTokers' most popular country recommendations overall included Germany, France, Canada, New Zealand and Portugal, which appeared frequently in the video guides.

Dozens of videos also discussed job opportunities. Some discussed what skills were valued in different countries, while others listed different remote work options.

Others also discussed the dual citizenship and ancestry process, which could make it easier for some Americans to obtain a passport and move to another country more quickly. Student visas were another option that was brought up by many users.

Various moving-related searches are increasing in popularity on TikTok, including phrases like “moving to Canada,” “moving abroad,” and “how to move out of the US.”
