Search warrant leads to man's arrest on multiple drug trafficking charges

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A man who police pulled over for speeding on the Watterson Expressway was arrested 10 days later on multiple drug trafficking charges.

Louisville Metro Police arrested Na'aman Coleman, 42, of Louisville on October 22.

According to court documents, Coleman was cited Oct. 12 for speeding 83 mph in a 55 mph zone. Ten days later, investigators executed a search warrant at Coleman's home in connection with a drug trafficking investigation. The subpoenas state that Coleman was the main target of the investigation.

During a search of the home, police found approximately three pounds of meth, more than two pounds of marijuana, over three ounces of powder cocaine and over 20 doses of Alprazolam. Police also discovered a large amount of cash and drug paraphernalia.

Ten handguns were also found during the search, some of which were loaded with restricted ammunition. One of the guns was reported stolen from Jennings County, Indiana. Coleman, a convicted felon, is prohibited from owning firearms.

LMPD investigators say Coleman's home was less than 1,000 feet from a school.

Coleman was booked on three counts of aggravated trafficking in a controlled substance, one count of aggravated trafficking in marijuana, using restricted ammunition during a felony, receiving a stolen firearm and trafficking a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school in Louisville Committed to Metro Corrections.
