WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) – A homeless man is accused of hurting two probation officers in Watertown last month.

City police arrested 31-year-old Charles Harlach on numerous charges on Tuesday.

On October 11, Harlach allegedly fought several parole officers while trying to escape from them at 662 Bronson Street.

According to court documents, Harlach “caused injuries involving significant pain” to two probation officers. Police did not know how serious the officers' injuries were or whether they needed medical treatment.

Harlach was charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest and second-degree criminal contempt.

He was previously convicted of felonious assault in 2022 and is charged with violating a protective order.

Harlach is being held without bail in the Jefferson County Jail.
