14 Las Vegas sex offenders arrested on Halloween

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police have arrested 14 people in a sex offender investigation.

A Halloween sex offender compliance check operation that began on Halloween resulted in 14 arrests. According to police, over 800 sex offenders were contacted from October 28th to November 1st.

Police report that six were arrested for violating sex offender laws and another eight were arrested for sex offense violations and outstanding warrants.

LVMPD identified the six people arrested for violating sex offender laws.

  • 64-year-old Alfred Irby
  • 27-year-old Brandon Snail
  • 39-year-old Jarrod Pounds
  • 55-year-old Calvin Bufford
  • 38 year old Nicholas Alward
  • 44 year old William Reeves

Police say multiple agencies assisted in the operation, including the U.S. Marshals Service's Nevada Violent Offender Task Force, Nevada State Police, Boulder City and Clark County Police.

According to LVMPD, sex offenders must register their address with local law enforcement according to their level.

The levels are listed by the police accordingly:

  • Level 3 offenders must report quarterly
  • Level 2 offenders must report every two years
  • An annual check-in is required for Level 1 offenders
