Teen found guilty of murder in 2023 Lincoln house party shooting

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A teenager accused of a deadly shooting at a house party in Lincoln last spring was found guilty by a jury Wednesday.

After more than a week of trial, 19-year-old Kashuan McCree was found guilty of first-degree murder, a Class 1A felony, and using a firearm to commit a felony, a Class 1C felony. He will be sentenced at a later date.

In March 2023, investigators said McCree, then 17, and Damien Brave, 18, were talking at a party in Lincoln when McCree pulled out a handgun and shot Brave multiple times.

Brave was taken to Bryan Health West with multiple gunshot wounds and later died from his injuries.
