“Outer Banks” ends with season 5 on Netflix

The Pogues by Outer Banks I still have one adventure left.

Netflix and the series' creators announced that the series has been renewed for a fifth and final season. The news comes a few days before the second half of season four debuts on the streamer; The final five episodes are scheduled to air on November 7th.

“In the summer of 2017, we came across a photo of teenagers on the beach at dusk during a power outage. This photo gave rise to the idea for a story about four best friends who just want to have a good time. “From the beginning, we envisioned a mystery that would lead to a five-season journey of adventure, treasure hunting and friendship,” series creators Shannon Burke, Josh Pate and Jonas Pate wrote in a letter to “all Pogues” on Monday.

“At the time, seven years ago, it seemed impossible that we could truly tell the entire five-season story, but here we are, at the end of our fourth season, still hacking away,” the letter continued. “…Now it is with some sadness, but also excitement, that we leave season four behind us and turn to season five, where we hope to bring our beloved Pogues home the way we imagined and planned years ago. Season 5 will be our final season and we believe it will be our best yet.”

Work has begun on the final season, but production and premiere dates have yet to be determined.

At an event celebrating the show over the weekend in Los Angeles, star Chase Stokes praised the bond the cast has built over five years and four seasons: “You have a certain level of trust in the people around you to know “We'll show up and do their job too,” he said The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s been like this for five years and nothing has ever changed.”
