Snow continues to fall on Colorado's Front Range and Eastern Plains

Widespread snow will continue across much of the Front Range and foothills of Colorado through Wednesday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, the heaviest snow fell in the southern foothills, the Palmer Divide and the east-central Plains. By the end of the storm, snow totals in these areas will be 5 to 12 inches and will likely result in hazardous road conditions.

There will still be about 3 inches of snow in the Denver metro area, the NWS said at 10:40 a.m

Snow will continue to fall across much of the Front Range through Wednesday evening, with the heaviest expected in a strip along I-76 south to Colorado Springs and Limon.

Meanwhile, snow is decreasing on the northern and western edges of the storm, and some sun is shining through in Silverthorne, NWS reported.

Denver7 meteorologists noted the following significant amounts of snow:

  • 1 WSW Rye: 20 inches
  • Ken Caryl: 10.5 inches
  • Lakewood: 10 inches
  • Highlands Ranch: 10 inches
  • Parker: 8.6 inches
  • Littleton: 8.5 inches
  • Lone Tree: 8 inches
  • Around Denver: 6-8 inches

A winter storm warning is in effect until 5 a.m. Thursday for Palmer Divide, Limon, Akron and Byers as 7 to 16 inches of additional snow falls.

Snow will continue in Denver through the morning, with up to 12 inches in some areas

Additionally, a winter weather advisory is in effect for the Denver metro area and the I-76 corridor until 11 p.m. Wednesday for 2 to 8 additional inches of snow. The southern Front Range and foothills are also under this advisory, with 5 to 9 inches more snow possible, according to the NWS.
