Fortnite OG returns permanently in December – report

Last year, Epic Games brought back Fortnite's original island in a month-long event called Fortnite OG. The opportunity to revisit the earliest version of the game proved popular with players, and now reports are emerging that Fortnite OG will be making a permanent return starting in December.

Fortnite leakers ShiinaBR and HypeX were the first to report the news. The first 10 seasons of Fortnite, which together make up Chapter 1, are scheduled to return monthly and only the OG loot will be supported. Additionally, both Fortnite's Battle Royale mode and Zero Build mode will be integrated into OG.

When Fortnite OG launched in 2023, over 44.7 million users signed up to play, marking the single most popular day in the game's history. This massive response certainly played a role in the decision to bring back Fortnite OG along with the current version of the game.

None of this has been confirmed by Epic Games yet, but the report suggests that the official reveal could come during the Fortnite Remix finale on November 30th or during the Game Awards on December 13th. However, this will all likely happen alongside the suspected map of Chapter 6 as well.

But before Fortnite Remix Chapter 2 comes to an end, rapper Eminem will return to the game on November 7th. If players can defeat Eminem in combat, they will receive his new Mythic RG Minigun, which can fire bullets and lines made from Eminem's raps. And if that wasn't enough for players, Fortnite Chapter 6 will release on December 1st, shortly after the conclusion of the Remix Finale event.
