Florida photographer shot live on Facebook: police officers

A Florida woman has been arrested for allegedly shooting another woman — all while broadcasting the deadly fight live on social media, police said.

Savon Tyler, 35, was charged with first-degree intentional murder for allegedly opening fire on Lauren Martin, 34, during a “combat-style fistfight” that was streamed online Tuesday night, Sanford police said who owns copies of the footage.

“Both Lauren and Tyler got into a verbal argument which then escalated into a physical altercation. “During the altercation, Tyler shot Lauren multiple times,” police said.

Martin's family told WESH that she was a photographer and the two argued over pictures Martin took of Tyler.

“Someone went online and made a comment…then another person went online and made a comment that just went back and forth and it spiraled out of control from there,” said the victim's aunt, Jessica Burks.

According to court documents obtained by the outlet, when Tyler saw Martin arrive at her home, she armed herself with a “children's miniature baseball bat” and a “9mm sky pistol.”

The two women fought each other in what police described as a “mutual fighting style” fistfight before the shooting, with Martin found lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.

Sanford police said officers responded to a shooting shortly after 7 p.m. and discovered Martin lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.

She was taken to a local hospital where she died from her injuries, police said.
