ATP Metz Day 4 predictions including Dimitrov vs Norrie

On the fourth day of the ATP event in Metz – the Moselle Open – five entertaining second-round matches are on the program. Two of the top three seeds are in action as the players look to end their season on a high. As always, we here at LWOT will be making our predictions for every game on day four. But who will make it to the quarterfinals?

ATP Metz Day 4 Predictions

Quentin Halys vs. Pierre-Hugues Herbert

Head to head: Herbert 1-0 Halys

A battle between two French players will delight the crowd while ensuring that one of them reaches the quarter-finals of the Moselle Open. Quentin Halys was untouchable in his three games, including the qualifiers. Halys was brilliant behind his serve and only lost his serve once. Herbert plays most of his matches on the Challenger Tour and won his first match on the ATP Tour in the first round this year. Herbert was last year's semifinalist and has a good record on indoor hard courts. However, Herbert is a lucky loser and Halys is in better shape than him.

Prediction: Halys in 2

Bu Yunchaokete vs Jesper de Jong

Head to head: first meeting

Bu Yunchaokete continues to surprise as he defeated a strong player like Adrian Mannarino in the first round. The Chinese played some excellent aggressive tennis and clearly frustrated Mannarino. Another win next week will help him reach a new career high and that seems entirely doable against Jesper de Jong, who has won only his second Tour level match of the season and prefers to play on clay.

Prediction: Yunchaokete in 3

Hugo Gaston vs Zizou Bergs

Head to head: first meeting

Both players took their first win at the Moselle Open and now have a chance to advance to the quarterfinals. However, Zizou Bergs had a much more comfortable win and didn't let himself be broken in his match. Gaston, on the other hand, was broken four times and was involved in a close match. Gaston is always in top form when playing on home soil, but this surface is not suitable for his game and Bergs should win if he can play at a good level.

Prediction: Bergs in 3

Casper Ruud against Benjamin Bonzi

Head to head: first meeting

Casper Ruud will be relieved to have secured his place at the ATP Finals and will be able to play much more freely this week. He has been in terrible form and could do with a few wins to boost his confidence ahead of Turin. This is Ruud's debut at the Moselle Open and he has a tough game ahead of him. Benjamin Bonzi has been in great form on the Challenger Tour and has continued that momentum this week. He defeated Roberto Bautista Agut convincingly and will increase his chances against Ruud's current level.

Prediction: Bonzi in 3

Grigor Dimitrov vs Cameron Norrie

Head to head: Norrie 2-1 Dimitrov

Grigor Dimitrov narrowly missed out on returning to the ATP finals but should be happy with his performance this year. Dimitrov's win percentage and number of games won are the highest since 2017 – when he won the ATP Finals. The Bulgarian is taking part in the ATP Metz event for the first time in 13 years and will be looking to get off to a successful start. Cameron Norrie fought bravely as ever and defeated Roberto Carballes Baena in the first round. This was his first tour-level win since July. Norrie has troubled Dimitrov before and has a track record of success. However, both wins came on slow hard courts and Dimitrov should have an advantage in these fast indoor conditions. If Dimitrov is healthy, he should win.

Prediction: Dimitrov in 3
