Gervonta Davis leaks DMs from Keyshawn Davis after being called out

WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis is the self-proclaimed “face of boxing,” but his resume has come under scrutiny in recent months. Now that Keyshawn Davis is the latest fighter hoping for a lucrative fight against “Tank,” the 135-pound titleholder has leaked some private messages with his new rival.

Gervonta Davis (30-0), who turned 30 today, is the three-weight world champion with 30 victories and 28 wins over the distance, but fans still question the Baltimore-born knockout artist's abilities.

The hard-hitting southpaw has now confirmed he will face WBA super featherweight champion Lamont Roach Jr in a second defense of his world lightweight title, and Davis has therefore been criticized for failing to take on natural lightweights battle.

However, in his defense, Davis is currently lacking quality and willing lightweight competitors, with Shakur Stevenson the only possible megafight after Vasyl Lomachenko openly rejected a proposed showdown.

However, that doesn't mean there won't be worthy competitors in the near future, in a division that is home to a number of young talents with high expectations.

One of those prospects is 25-year-old Keyshawn Davis, who won the silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and was a vocal critic of both Gervonta Davis and Teofimo Lopez.

After another call for the opportunity to face “Tank,” “The Businessman” finally sparked a response from the WBA lightweight king, who shared a private exchange between the two where Keyshawn Davis apparently tried to sign with Gervonta's promotional team “GTD Promotions”.
