Panthers sign Chuba Hubbard to a four-year extension

The Panthers and running back Chuba Hubbard will be together for a while.

The team announced Thursday that it has signed Hubbard to a four-year contract extension. They haven't announced any terms, but NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reports that it is so a four-year, $33.2 million contract.

Hubbard will receive $15 million in fully guaranteed money and has a cap value of $37.2 million.

Hubbard has 133 carries for 665 yards and five touchdowns to go so far this season, with 26 catches for 108 yards and a touchdown. The 2021 fourth-round pick has 638 carries for 2,645 yards and 17 touchdowns in his career.

The Panthers selected Jonathon Brooks in the second round this year, but he has not played yet due to a knee injury he suffered in his senior year of college. He was activated this week but will likely make his debut following the team's bye in Week 11 and will now share time in the backfield with Hubbard for years to come.
