Dylan Dreyer criticizes negative comments on her cooking videos

Today Fans absolutely love watching it Dylan Dreyers adorable cooking videos with her eldest son Calvin. But in the caption of a recent video posted to Instagram, she clapped back at those who criticized her recipes.

“Tis the season for football snacks and this is one of our favorite recipes! “We use the focaccia recipe on the side of the bag with Caputo Fioreglut GF flour…half the recipe makes two jelly roll pans, so the adults have the buffalo chicken version and the kids just have a plain pizza version,” she explained in the caption of the video from Tuesday, November 5th.

She then explained that there were some comments on her videos accusing her of making unhealthy foods.

“Cal loves getting his hands in the dough, and he can make his own focaccia exactly how he wants it,” the meteorologist wrote. “I've gotten some comments saying the butter in this dish is unhealthy… Guys, this is a fun football snack, it's not a healthy recipe. Live a little and enjoy!”

In the video, Dylan diluted the hot sauce with two sticks of melted butter because she didn't want her buffalo chicken pizza to be too spicy.

Other fans praised her in the comments section for showing how to make another great gluten-free recipe at home.

“This is great! Thank you for focusing on fun GF foods and for all you do for the celiac community,” one person wrote, while another said, “Both pizzas look delicious! I love how you incorporate fun, GF foods. Eating GF doesn’t mean it has to be boring.”

“I wish you and Cal would write a cookbook for my girlfriend!” another person suggested.

Dylan first revealed in May 2023 that Cal had celiac disease after suffering from constant earaches, stomach aches, skin rashes and hair loss. She had to change her cooking habits at home and purchase all new cooking equipment to improve Cal's health.

“Not only does it mean not feeding him wheat products, there is also a risk of cross-contamination,” said the broadcaster, who also shares children Oliver and Russell with his husband Brian Ficherasaid TODAY.com. “All my things in the kitchen had to be thrown away, all our wooden spoons, wooden cutting boards, anything that had a scratch… all the rivets on the inside of the pot where the handle is. All of that had to be thrown away because gluten can hide anywhere.”

After making changes at home, Dylan said Cal was doing much better.

“He was just in constant pain,” said the mother of three. “He’s finally okay…” [for] the first time in a year. He's glad we discovered that because it says, 'Okay, good. I can finally feel like myself.'”

Dylan spoke about the “incredible” feedback she received after publicly announcing her son's diagnosis.

“Everyone says, 'Thank you.'” Nobody talks about it because nobody thinks it's a big deal. But if you live with it, that’s how it is,” she said People in July 2023.

“I want every restaurant to offer gluten-free options,” she said of her hopes for the future.
