Laurel Mann was killed in a car accident in Stone Co. on Monday

STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) – A Laurel man was killed in a car accident on U.S. Highway 49 Monday afternoon, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

MHP said they responded to the fatal crash on US 49 in Stone County around 3:30 p.m.

A 2021 Toyota Highlander, driven by 65-year-old Bruce Gavin, was traveling north on US 49 when it left the road and collided with several trees.

Gavin suffered fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.

MHP said it is investigating the crash.
