On Oct. 12, LaGrange police were called to a Synovus Bank near Greenwood Street. The teller said a man gave him a bill and took an “undisclosed amount of money” before running away.

The man was wearing a wig, sunglasses, a surgical mask and gloves – leading police to link him to another incident on Oct. 31, when he showed up at a PNC Bank on Lafayette Parkway wearing the same disguise. Police said the man had a note and an envelope but turned around and left before doing anything.

Then on Nov. 1, Newnan police were called to an AmerisBank on Newnan Crossing Boulevard, where a man wearing the same disguise robbed the bank with a bill. Newnan police officers identified his car, which was found in Roanoke, Alabama, and traced it to Carr, who was arrested.

According to LaGrange police, search warrants for Carr's home and car revealed evidence that he was involved in both robberies and the attempted robbery.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Detective A. Blane at 706-883-2603. Anonymous tipsters can call Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000.
