Viral 30A House unveils new banner after Trump victory

SEAGROVE BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – A home along 30A has gone viral over the years for displaying large banners supporting Donald Trump.

After this week's election, Marvin Peavy's family hung a new banner at their second home that read, “Trump Coming Home 2025.”

On Wednesday morning, Donald Trump was declared president-elect in the 2024 presidential race, marking his return to that office after his loss to Joe Biden in 2020.

2020 was the same year Peavy began hanging banners at his second home in Seagrove Beach on Scenic Highway 30A.

On Election Day, the family also unveiled a banner asking, “Who is your father?” It featured a picture of Trump pointing into the street.

“There were hundreds of people in my house this morning cheering me on, and yesterday there were hundreds of people cheering me on,” Marvin Peavy said. “We've already had 350,000 hits on these signs in six hours today, so we're hoping they go viral. People love it because people believe in free America.”

Peavy's TikTok account has over 22,000 followers and his video unveiling the new banner has nearly 1 million views.

Since 2020, Marvin Peavy has hung numerous banners, including “Trump 2020,” “Trump Now, Trump Won,” “You Missed Trump 2024,” and “Bulletproof.”

“It made me a little nervous because I put up a banner, a big banner. We had a few people throwing eggs at it and completely missed the sign. Like I said, I'm a fighter, so you know you're not going to beat me with one big throw of a big egg,” Peavy said as he talked about the first banner he ever hung.

Discarded eggs weren't Peavy's only problem. He says he collected about $63,000 in fees for the banner. (RELATED: Santa Rosa Beach homeowner hoists Trump banner, enforcement threatens fines)

Walton County Code Compliance officials told Peavy the banners violate Scenic Corridor Code 6.11.08.

“Their laws cannot supersede my First Amendment rights, so they went after my constitutional rights, which they cannot do. “It woke me up as a patriot,” Peavy said. “I'm very glad they came after me and I woke up, I have great lawyers. We are very happy with what is going on. The US Supreme Court has already ruled that you can put signs on your home. There’s nothing you can do about it.”

Peavy claims the judge hasn't ruled on the fees in over 42 months because the courts are backlogged.

He also said he doesn't plan to stop hanging the banners any time soon.

Peavy's overall message is bigger than the fines. but one in defense of freedoms.

“We are Americans, it is a great day to wake up today and be a devout American. I hope they stand up when someone comes after them. Whether it's your Second Amendment or your First Amendment, you will stand up and fight for what is right. Because we are the people, and our government is coming back to us, and that's what Donald Trump promised us. We will control our government, not our government controlling us.”

Walton County declined to comment due to pending litigation.
