Husband of missing San Antonio mother Suzanne Simpson charged with murder

The husband of a San Antonio woman missing for a month has been charged with murder.

Brad Simpson is charged in the death of Suzanne Simpson, a 51-year-old mother of four who was last seen by her neighbor outside her San Antonio home on Oct. 7, officials said.

The Texas Department of Public Safety did not provide further details about the case Thursday when it announced the charges, but officials will hold a news conference Friday afternoon.

Authorities have not publicly announced that Suzanne Simpson's body has been found.

According to court records, Simpson was arrested on Oct. 10 on family violence charges.

No one from the county public defender's office, which represented Simpson, could immediately be reached for comment Thursday evening.

NBC affiliate WOAI reported that neighbors called police last month after hearing the couple arguing.

According to a police report obtained by the news agency, a neighbor saw the couple having a physical argument. The neighbor later also heard screams coming from the nearby forest.

A federal complaint was filed against him the day after Simpson's arrest last month. He is accused of unlawfully possessing a short-barreled rifle that was not registered to him, the complaint states.
