A young man from the eastern, southeastern and limestone-rich village of Comala wanted to visit his father and his son Pedro Páramo to defend themselves, for which the negro owed his mother. When he began the classic novel by Juan Rulfo, very popular after its latest film adaptation on Netflix, he debuted as a director by film photographer Rodrigo Prieto.

Prieto was nominated for an Oscar for his films in the following years such as “Brokeback Mountain” (“Secreto en la montaña”), “Silence” (“Silencio”), “The Irishman” (“El irlandés”) and many more Este año was nominated for an Oscar for “Killers of the Flower Moon” (“Los asesinos de la luna”). With “Pedro Páramo” he tells his original origins with actors such as Dolores Heredia, Giovanna Zacarías, Mayra Batalla, Ilse Salas, Tenoch Huerta and Manuel García-Rulfo, as well as local production equipment, to recreate one of the more emblematic stories de la literatura Mexicana, Considerada una obra Together with Gabriel García Márquez and Jorge Luis Borges.

Over the course of his book (more than 150 pages in several editions) “Pedro Páramo” has made various adjustments in the past, the first time a decade ago after its publication that appeared in Cannes in 1967 towards Carlos Velo with John Gavin, Ignacio López Tarso, Pilar Pellicer and Carlos Fernández. Las siguientes fueron by José Bolaños (1977) and Salvador Sánchez (1981).

I am aware that I want to create an adaptation of the streaming platform for the global public, but I am sure that it is a story that viewers have to know, even for more than a year.

“I think the man of the world identifies with this local story, and the themes are universal: man hurts, man hurts, and man is deceived,” he told The Associated Press during the recent film promotion at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia, none of the guests of honor.

“Son cosas que todo el mundo puede de alguna manera, aunque the estructura es compleja, los themes, las emotions por las que pasan los personas, son universales.”

Prieto Suele experimented with different lenses and techniques in the films and collaborations to create diverse atmospheres, experiences and time periods. In “Pedro Páramo,” for which he was photographed, he was not constantly engaged in art, particularly in several nocturnal scenes.

“This film, as a director of photography, is very determined to create a believable moonlight, and it is really difficult to see it authentically.” “When I had a great hope, it was long walks to the Calles de Comala… you had to say goodbye, you felt hidden in the darkness,” he said.

“The novella and the film also appeared in time, they excel at different moments, not flashbacks, much more than all flashbacks (escenas futuro) and flashbacks (escenas del pasado), time is round and is presented to make it visual to transmit and transmit “The audience, not only in the design of the production, in the costume and in the machine, but also in the person, who is not only visual, but immediately pays attention to the fact that it is in a different era, remorseful “It's for the other big wish,” he said.

Juan Preciado is interpreted by Huerta and Pedro Páramo by García-Rulfo (Rulfo by his father's father, Lapuente is his father).

Rulfo said that the author of “Pedro Páramo” first came from his father. The other book “El Llano en llamas” is her favorite and I thought of listening to her stories, but I now imagined that it has to be interpreted by one of the protagonists of “Pedro Páramo”. Her family's response to the film was what made her nervous.

“Creo que fue la quieta de Rodrigo”, agregó sobre como logró callar esas voces en sumente. “From now on it was as if we had developed our new version for you and I immediately had to realize that Pedro Páramo is not the one you left, but I gave you this opinion. Ahorita, la verdad, yo estoy muy orgulloso de lo que hicimos”.

One of the first residents of Comala with Juan Preciado, who interacted with Eduviges Dyada, a cantina and inn interpreted by Heredia.

“Yo quería que Eduviges no fuera una woman densa, ni pesada, ni sufrida,” said the actress. “I'm looking for a trip, I'm about to read the diary so I can set off, and I want to live.”

Same as Juan Preciado, we entered when he was really Pedro Páramo and everyone he needed was fired; It was a desperate, effeminate and corrupt man who was with the man who had done something to Comala. Her only weakness includes Susana San Juan, a woman who begs to have her home, but she was there years ago. When Susana commented on Comala, it wasn't despair, it was full of mental tension and a deep sadness. The film suggests that there is a high chance that he will be abused by his father.

“All women suffer from general violence, it is as impressive as it is now and we did it in the Tuétano, but Susana looked when she flew and when she traveled to the film it was so sad” said Salas la interpreta. “Acababa con un hueco en el estómago por lo cercano a nuestra realidad hoy, la verdad… de leer las noticias y que se parezca tanto a nuestra realidad todavía.”

Damiana Cisneros is the sweetheart of the Hacienda of Pedro Páramo and the female Pocas, who had to stop the fight against the violence that she wanted. This is a cheerful and clear person who has been given responsibility by Batalla.

“She built a rare personal space, even in the dark, that had its price and spent its life with him,” she told the actress, for whom Damiana represented an arquette of Mexican women. “I've been in this contradiction all this time… the man who stands by me couldn't excuse me, but all this time I was a house, in this case, I wanted a hacienda, my goodness.”

Zacarías has undertaken a physical transformation in the paper of Dorotea, one of the more inhabitants of Comala. The book Dorotea is about one of the city's most prominent voices, and the film is a test report.

“It is a Xólotl (perro prehispánico), como dice Rodrigo, para trascender al inframundo y es la tierra, yo siento que es como la tierra de Comala… y no tiene echo ni a tumba con su nombre,” Zacarías said. “It’s very poetic and I think it has a lot of symbolism in it.”
