One dead and one seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Butler County

QULIN, Mo. (KFVS) – One man is dead and one man is seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Butler County Thursday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, the accident occurred around 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7th. The accident scene was on MO 53, one mile south of Qulin, Missouri.

The accident occurred when a 2006 Ford Escort struck the rear of a John Deere tractor. The Ford then crossed the middle of the road and struck a 2021 Buick Encore.

The driver of the Buick, a 64-year-old man from Poplar Bluff, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 6:13 a.m. by Butler County Coroner Jim Akers. The man was transported to the Butler County Mortuary.

The driver of the Ford, a 69-year-old man from Malden, was also seriously injured in the accident. He was transported by EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

The driver of the John Deere tractor was not reported injured.

According to the Highway Patrol, everyone was wearing safety gear at the time of the crash.
