1 dead after crash on I-75 in Pembroke Pines

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – One person was killed in a crash on Interstate 75 in Pembroke Pines Thursday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. in the northbound lane, near the Pines Boulevard overpass.

Two vehicles involved could be seen on a video from Sky 10.

FHP Lt. Indiana Miranda, a spokesman for the agency, said the victim died at a local hospital.

During the investigation, authorities closed two lanes of the highway, causing a traffic jam.

Officials have not released the victim's identity or information about what led to the crash.
