3 adults and 2 children died in murder-suicide in Duluth

8:20 p.m. UPDATE: Five people have died in a murder-suicide in Duluth, including two children.

It started on Tacony Street, where a woman and a teenager were shot in their West Duluth home Thursday.

A male suspect was identified and officers set up a perimeter at his home near West 6th Street and North 44th Avenue West, next to Denfeld High School.

When officers went inside, they found a 45-year-old woman and a dead teenager, also with gunshot wounds.

They also found the suspect, a 46-year-old man, who appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

No names are currently being released.

The police told us that everyone involved knew each other and that there was no danger to the community.

Names will not be released until next of kin are notified.

The investigation is ongoing.

A statement from the Duluth Police Department said: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of the victims involved in this tragic event.”

Police plan to hold a news conference sometime tomorrow.

DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) – The bodies of two people with gunshot wounds were discovered Tuesday during a welfare check by Duluth police.

According to DPD, officers responded to a 911 call near the intersection of Tacony Street and North 59th Avenue West in the Cody neighborhood of Duluth around 2:10 p.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
