Barry Keoghan's The Joker Becomes Max Series – World of Reel

Some interesting information has been published Marvelvision PodcastThey hear that Barry Keoghan is in talks to return as the Joker, although not in Batman Part II, but as the main villain in Batman Part III.

What's more interesting is that Keoghan's Joker will also be headlining a Max series that builds on The Batman: Part III, much like Matt Reeves and company did with The Penguin. That makes sense, especially considering the success of “Penguin,” which has put up some stellar numbers since its debut in September.

Keoghan's Joker appears near the end of The Batman as a nameless Arkham prisoner who converses with The Riddler (Paul Dano). Since then, there have been rumors that he would play a much larger role in the sequel. It now looks like he'll just make another cameo in “Part II.”

Matt Reeves is set to film The Batman: Part II early next year. Robert Pattinson, Colin Farrell, Zoe Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright and Andy Serkis are expected to return to the cast. Reeves confirmed this back in September Collider that the plan was to make a trilogy of his Batman films.

After many drafts, the script for “The Batman: Part II” was finally completed in September. No plot details have been leaked and the entire project is shrouded in strict secrecy.

Reeves takes his time here, and for good reason. Don't rush, next year will be particularly important for James Gunn's DCU, with Superman set to release in the summer. There is also another DCU Batman film in the works, and that would be Andy Muschietti's The Brave and the Bold.

There have been too many Batman films in the last 35 years – I counted 10. It will be very difficult for Reeves to top Christopher Nolan's trilogy. He probably won't. The Keoghan/Joker series will continue even after the failure of Joker: Folie a Deux, meaning the character will get a new reboot.
