FPL Gameweek 11 Tips and Team of the Week – Man Utd treble, Salah captain and Solanke up front

Mohamed Salah (captain), Liverpool, midfielder, £12.8m – home of Aston Villa

Why change a winning formula? Salah has scored in his last three goals, he scored once in this game last season, Villa have scored just four goals at Spurs and have a day less rest than Liverpool after a trip to Belgium in the Champions League.

Easy captain choice this week.

Alejandro Garnacho, Manchester United, midfielder, £6.3m – Home of Leicester City

Garnacho was a player to keep an eye on last week and is in the team straight into Gameweek 11.

The reasons for his choice?

Only Salah had more shots on goal.

Only Salah had more great chances.

Top players tend to exceed their xG – Salah, for example, has seven goals with an xG of 5.63 – but the opposite is true for Garnacho.

He has two goals with an xG of 3.39. There is only one player with a higher xG who hasn't scored at least four goals…

Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United, midfielder, £8.2m – Home of Leicester City

Yes – that midfielder is Fernandes with a goal to his name and an xG of 3.74, and that was a penalty against Chelsea last week.

Fernandes was fantastic against Leicester in the EFL Cup – Steve Cooper made a few changes – as United scored five goals. He finished with two goals, it could have been more.

With the support of a new manager, United surely need to end this run of poor goalscoring and what better chance than at home against a Leicester side who are conceding just under two goals per game.
