Driver charged after hitting two pedestrians in Greenville crosswalk

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A Beaufort County woman has been charged after police say she hit two women in a crosswalk in Greenville.

According to police, 68-year-old Gracie Mcroy of Chocowinity was charged this afternoon with failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to reduce speed.

The two women, ages 19 and 20, were struck by an SUV on 10th Street near the ECU campus Monday evening.

According to police, one of the victims was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive.
