A GoFundMe was launched Monday for two women who were hit by an SUV near ECU

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – The two women hit by an SUV near East Carolina University's campus are still recovering, according to a fundraising page.

According to Greenville police, two women, ages 19 and 20, were struck by an SUV on 10th Street near the ECU campus Monday evening.

A GoFundMe page says the two girls, Jenna Lucido and Hayle Cuff, are still in the hospital recovering from their injuries. The police assume that the two women will survive.

The driver of the SUV, 68-year-old Gracie Mcroy of Chocowinity, was charged Wednesday with failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to reduce speed.

The fundraising page says the girls were crossing the crosswalk near Umstead Residence Hall when they were hit.

According to police, the accident occurred around 7:45 p.m

The organizer says the GoFundMe page was set up to help families cover medical bills and travel expenses.

The fundraising website says the two girls are from out of state.
