Charlotte County woman accused of abusing her disabled boyfriend

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – A Port Charlotte woman is in jail after officers assaulted a man who was in her care.

Officers were called to a home on Warren Avenue for reports of a domestic violence incident. Officials say De'yeanna Stultz initially gave deputies a false name. Stultz was her boyfriend's primary caregiver and she denied anything happened.

The victim had called police and provided a statement identifying Stultz as his caregiver and his 11-year-old girlfriend. He told officers that De'yanna had been drinking and that she became aggressive when drunk.

The probable cause affidavit states that De'yanna threw a Roku remote at the victim and hit him. The remote control with dead batteries lay in the ground next to the victim, who could not move.

Officers arrested Stultz and said she resisted and refused to follow orders. Stultz was charged with abuse of a disabled adult, resisting without violence and giving a false name to LEO.

She is in the Charlotte County Jail.
